Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone aged 16+ who:
• Enjoys helping others
• Values community and culture
• Wants to practise Portuguese or support those learning
• Can commit occasionally or regularly
No Portuguese experience is required — just a willingness to help.
Ways You Can Help
Events & Workshops
Support our community events by helping with setup, welcoming participants, assisting facilitators, or creating the warm, colourful atmosphere Casa Brasil is known for.
Community Programmes
Help with children’s activities, senior sessions, cultural celebrations, and language programmes. Volunteers often interact in Portuguese with families and participants.
Cultural Activities & Celebrations
Assist with music, dance, food preparation, decorations, and other cultural elements that bring Brazil to life in Aotearoa.
Special Projects
From seasonal events to community collaborations, volunteers help us deliver meaningful initiatives throughout the year.
Day‑to‑Day Casa Brasil Support
Casa Brasil is a busy home! Volunteers can help with:
- Organising materials and resources
- Tidying and preparing rooms
- Greeting visitors
- Updating noticeboards and displays
- Light cleaning and resetting spaces
- Assisting with signage and visual communication
- Assisting with the Library
